Part 9: Thanksgiving Dinner with American Family & Black Friday in Atlanta!

Last Thanksgiving, Hannah Gravitt kindly invited me and few other friends to join a Thanksgiving Dinner with an American family. They lived not far from Vandy and Hannah drove us there to help us experience our real Thanksgiving dinner ever!

The head of the American family greeted us nicely and introduced us to the typical Thanksgiving food -  Roasted Turkey with Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Steamed Asparagus, Apple Cider Tea and Pumpkin Pie (my fav!). After dinner, all of us sat at the living room and shared with each other about what we are thankful for this year(2012). Then, we watched a short movie that briefly explained the history of Thanksgiving Day. We also had some trivia about Thanksgiving before we left. It was a fun night especially when it was with wonderful people. Thank you so much for inviting us!

Black Friday Craze in Atlanta!
During the Thanksgiving break, we decided to visit somewhere not far from Vandy but still out of Tennessee. So we drove 4 hours to Georgia to visit the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola. First road trip with Shida and thanks for being talkative, we were able to drove non-stop all the way to Atlanta :p .

The Georgia Aquarium is enormous and the best part of the aquarium tour was the Dolphin Tales Show. The Dolphins were so smart and adorable! I wish I can have one as a pet.

World of Coca Cola. Too bad they closed on Thanksgiving
After spending about 4 hours at the aquarium, we went downtown to look for Hard Rock Cafe, but then  it was closed as well (Hooters bukak plak.. grrr). Whatever, we then just drove to shopping mall to enjoy the low prices offered on Black Friday. I did not spend a lot that night because I already broke at that time. Best Buy offered $200 off (from $700 to $500) for a Sony nex 5n mirrorless slr and I just couldn't help myself from not buying it. But until now, I'm satisfied with the deal, and the camera had been capturing a lot of unforgettable moments that I had since then.

Because Best Buy always have crazy deals like $50 for a Samsung S3, many people acted crazy as well. They don't mind camping out in front of Best Buy when the weather was about -2 celcius at that time. =,="
